Job summary

Eaton in Dubai seeks an experienced Application Engineering Manager EMEA to lead the Power Distribution Solutions team. You will oversee LV/MV switchgear and modular systems, coordinate with EPCs, data centers, utilities, and channel partners to deliver compliant, high-quality technical solutions.

You will drive standardization, guide RFQs, and mentor multicultural teams, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer expectations across FEED, quotation, and execution stages.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years in electrical industry with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in application engineering and LV/MV switchgear, transformers, and modular systems.
• Deep knowledge of LV/MV switchgear architecture; familiarity with transformers, generators, and packaged substations.
• Strong understanding of data center segment & utilities applications, engineering calculations, manufacturing methods, and commercial project aspects.
• Segment insights, application, electrical and mechanical engineering, calculation, studies and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Power Distribution Solutions Application Engineers focusing on MV/LV switchgear, busway, transformers and modular solutions.
• Translate technical requirements into Eaton solutions, including xModular systems, SCADA, PLC, and packaged substations.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 62271 series and customer specs, including internal arc classification and relay protection.
• Collaborate with tendering, sales, BDMs and custom order engineering to drive technical sales of PDS equipment.
• Drive technical quality and consistency in the quotation process across mechanical, electrical, safety, and control domains.
• Author consultant specifications and technical documentation to expand Eaton’s data center projects.

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineering Manager EMEA to join ourMiddle EastEngineering Team inDubai,UAE.

What you'll do:

• Lead a team of Power Distribution Solutions Application Engineers focused on focused on medium voltage, low voltage switchgear, busway, transformers and modular solutions ensuring high-quality technical support across FEED, quotation, and execution stages.
• Understand the full value chain and guide the team in translating technical requirements into integrated Eaton solutions, including xModular systems, SCADA, PLC, and packaged substations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC 62271 series) and customer specifications, including internal arc classification, CT/VT selection, relay protection, and arc venting options.
• Collaborate with tendering , sales, BDMs and custom order engineering teams within Eaton to drive the technical sales of PDS BU equipment like LV & MV switchgear, Tx ,Busway and Modular solutions.
• Drive technical quality and consistency in the quotation process, ensuring competitive and compliant solutions across mechanical, electrical, safety, and control domains.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with EPCs, consulting engineers, CSOs, and channel partners outside eaton to promote Eaton’s data center offerings and influence specifications.
• Support pipeline development through technical demand creation activities and strategic engagement with business development managers.
• Evaluate risks and market trends in the key segments ie. utilities, data center segment to guide product feature development and future New Product Development (NPD) initiatives.
• Oversee technical feasibility, clarification, and execution of multiple projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer expectations.
• Provide expert guidance on third-party equipment and write technical RFQs for non-Eaton items, ensuring technical compliance and cost competitiveness.
• Author consultant specifications and technical documentation (compliance statements, deviations, exceptions) to expand Eaton’s scope of work in data center projects.
• Ensure clean handovers to quotation, order management, and manufacturing engineering teams, maintaining technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the Application Engineering Committee and drive standardization through Digital Application Guides and SMART CDEs.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, resolving complex technical issues and defining application strategies for utilities, data centers, CI&I and industrial segments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required (with electro-mechanical insights)
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the electrical industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in application engineering and LV/MV switchgear, transformers, and modular systems.
• Deep technical knowledge of LV/MV switchgear architecture; familiarity with transformers, generators, and packaged substations.
• Strong understanding of data center segment & utilities applications, engineering calculations, manufacturing methods, and commercial project aspects.
• Segment insights & Application, electrical and mechanical Engineering, Calculation, Studies and Manufacturing methods.
• Industry certifications such as Uptime Institute Design and/or TIA-942 preferred.
• Leadership attributes, Creative thinking, customer-centric mindset, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lead multicultural teams and collaborate across regional and functional boundaries.
