Job summary

Ethos, a new expert network built by a McKinsey/SoftBank/DeepMind team, seeks experienced software, AI, and data professionals to train language models on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slides. You will create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated outputs across core workflows such as design documents, data pipelines, and API guides, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Remote, flexible 5-20 hours per week with ASAP start.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a software engineer, data engineer, or AI/ML practitioner writing technical design documents, data pipelines, or API specifications
• Direct experience evaluating model outputs or system readiness and documenting tradeoffs for engineering or cross-functional stakeholders
• Expert-level document, spreadsheet, and slide craftsmanship with excellent written communication and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks across core workflows: technical design docs, data pipelines, API specs, and more
• Document technical tradeoffs and readiness for engineering and cross-functional stakeholders
• Collaborate to produce API specifications, onboarding guides, and system architecture diagrams
