Job summary

Careers International in Dubai is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations within the fit-out and construction sectors. You will handle AP/AR, GL, bank reconciliations, budgeting, VAT compliance, and prepare periodic financial reports; collaborate with procurement and project teams to ensure accurate costing and timely payments.

This role requires 3–5 years UAE experience and a degree in accounting/finance, with proficiency in QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 3–5 years of UAE accounting experience in fit-out, construction, or joinery.
• Proficient with QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of project costing, revenue recognition, and WIP accounting.
• In-depth understanding of UAE VAT and financial compliance.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, GL entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare client invoices, payments to subcontractors, and petty cash.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control against estimates.
• Maintain records of project financials including POs, delivery notes, and LPOs.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams for documentation and approval flow.
• Ensure timely supplier account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as P&L, cash flow forecasts, and job cost reports.
• Handle VAT computations, returns, and UAE tax compliance.
• Assist in budgets, audits, and financial planning.
• Ensure accounting records are up-to-date, IFRS-compliant, and policy-aligned.

• Prepare and process client invoices, subcontractor/supplier payments, and petty cash.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control in line with estimates.
• Maintain accurate records of project-related financial transactions including purchase orders, delivery notes, and LPOs.
• Coordinate with the procurement and project teams for proper documentation and approval flow.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of supplier accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports including profit & loss statements, cash flow forecasts, and job cost reports.
• Handle VAT computations, returns, and ensure compliance with UAE tax laws.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, audits, and financial planning.
• Ensure all accounting records are up-to-date, accurate, and maintained in accordance with IFRS and company policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting within the fit-out, construction, or joinery industry (UAE experience preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP systems).
• Strong understanding of project costing, revenue recognition, and WIP accounting.
• Solid knowledge of UAE VAT and financial compliance.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/accounts and meet tight deadlines.
