Job summary

Carl ZEISS Vision Spectacles Trading LLC in Dubai, UAE is seeking an Accountant AP Specialist to manage accounts payable, process supplier invoices, travel claims and expenses, and support month-end closings.

The role requires ACCA/CPA or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree, SAP experience, VAT/tax knowledge, and strong Excel skills, with attention to detail and English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• ACCA, CPA or a similar professional qualification.
• Experience in month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Experience supporting audit preparation and working with auditors.
• Knowledge of VAT and tax documentation and compliance.
• Proficiency in SAP and Excel; IFRS or local GAAP knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and accuracy.
• Good communication and ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage timely processing of supplier invoices, travel claims and expense reports.
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate general ledger postings in ERP systems.
• Prepare VAT documentation and corporate tax filings; assist audits as needed.
• Monitor operating expenses and prepare cost centre reports with variance analysis.

As an Accountant AP Specialist you will manage accounts payable activities while supporting key accounting and financial reporting processes Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders you will ensure invoices and expenses are processed accurately and on time financial records are maintained in our ERP systems and month-end and year-end closing activities are completed efficiently You will also contribute to budgeting cost control VAT and corporate tax documentation and external audit preparation helping to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures The role of Accountant AP Specialist will involve Manage the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices travel claims and expense reports Monitor operating expenses and prepare cost centre reports including variance analysis Support budget and forecast preparation and monitor budget variances Complete month-end and year-end closing activities including reconciliations accruals and journal entries Maintain accurate general ledger postings and financial records in ERP systems Prepare documentation and schedules for external audits and coordinate with auditors and internal stakeholders Support VAT returns and corporate tax filings by preparing relevant documentation and financial data Ensure compliance with accounting standards internal controls and company procedures Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes data accuracy and cost efficiency Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field. ACCA, CPA or a similar professional qualification. Experience in accounting, including month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations and journal entries.
