Accountant
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financialrecords, ensure accurate reporting, and support the overall financial health of the business.The role involves handling day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial statements,reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and customer accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare VAT and tax-related reports where applicable.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Monitor cash flow and support financial reporting to management.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Support improvements in accounting systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA is an advantage.
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-currency environment.
- Knowledge of VAT regulations, especially UK or UAE regulations if relevant.
- Experience with systems such as Odoo, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.
