Job Title: Product Owner / Product Manager
Job Location- Abu Dhabi
Job Description:
The Head of Digital Product is the senior business owner for company Destinations’ mobile application and associated consumer-facing digital product capabilities. This is a highly strategic role, accountable for shaping, prioritising, and delivering a digital product that directly supports client’s commercial objectives, guest experience ambitions, and long‑term digital ecosystem.
The role combines product leadership, programme ownership, business analysis, and delivery oversight. While closely partnered with Digital Technology (DTD) and external delivery agencies, this position is intentionally embedded within the business to ensure that product decisions are driven by guest needs, commercial outcomes, and operational realities rather than technology for technology’s sake.
This is a senior, hands‑on delivery leadership role. While the Head of Digital Product is not responsible for hands‑on software development, they are deeply hands‑on in product, programme, and project delivery, personally driving the mobile app from strategy through execution. The role deliberately combines the responsibilities of a product manager, programme manager, and delivery‑focused project leader, with direct ownership of planning, prioritisation, sequencing, dependencies, milestones, and day‑to‑day execution to ensure that strategy is translated into tangible outcomes that are shipped reliably, at the right cadence, quality, and business impact.
Role Scope:
- Own and define the product vision for the client Destinations mobile app, aligned to guest experience strategy, commercial priorities, and brand standards.
- Translate high‑level business objectives into a clear, prioritised product strategy and multi‑phase roadmap.
- Balance short‑term delivery needs with longer‑term platform evolution and scalability.
- Act as the internal authority on what the app is (and is not), ensuring disciplined scope management.
Business Requirements & Product Definition
- Partner with commercial, marketing, operations, guest experience, and digital teams to gather requirements, pain points, and opportunities.
- Convert business needs into structured product requirements including features, use cases, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlogs.
- Break down complex initiatives into manageable, value‑driven releases while maintaining end‑to‑end coherence.
- Ensure product decisions are grounded in guest insight, data, and business value rather than opinion.
Delivery Oversight & Programme Management
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle of the mobile app programme from concept through build, launch, iteration, and optimisation.
- Work closely with DTD and external agencies to ensure delivery is progressing against agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain a predictable release cadence, ensuring stakeholders have visibility and confidence in delivery.
- Ensure effective feedback loops are in place so learnings from releases, analytics, and user feedback continuously inform future development.
- Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies, and constraints, and drive resolution.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the single point of accountability between business stakeholders and delivery teams for the mobile app.
- Align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision and prioritisation model.
- Communicate progress, trade‑offs, and outcomes clearly to senior leadership.
- Influence without authority across functions, building trust and momentum in a matrixed environment.
Guest Experience & Product Quality
- Champion a guest‑first mindset across all product decisions.
- Partner with UX/UI resources to ensure the app delivers an intuitive, high‑quality, on‑brand experience.
- Ensure quality standards are upheld across functionality, performance, accessibility, and stability.
- Oversee testing, acceptance, and release readiness from a business perspective.
Performance Measurement & Optimisation
- Define and track product success metrics aligned to business outcomes.
- Use data, analytics, and feedback to assess performance and prioritise improvements.
- Continuously identify opportunities to increase adoption, engagement, conversion, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification or MBA is a plus but not mandatory.
- Formal training or certification in product management, agile delivery, or technology delivery methodologies (e.g. Product Management certifications, Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Lean, or equivalent) is highly desirable, with a strong emphasis on practical application over strict framework adherence.
Years of Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in digital product management, digital programme leadership, or equivalent roles.
- Proven track record delivering consumer‑facing digital products, ideally mobile apps or complex digital platforms.
- Experience operating in environments with multiple stakeholders, vendors, and delivery partners.
- Background in travel, hospitality, entertainment, or large‑scale consumer brands is advantageous but not essential.
Knowledge, Languages and Skills
- Strong product thinking with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Excellent business analysis and problem‑structuring skills.
- Confident working with iterative delivery models and product backlogs without rigid dependency on specific frameworks.
- Commercially minded, with a clear understanding of how digital products drive business value.
- Highly effective communicator, able to operate comfortably at senior leadership level.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making prioritisation trade‑offs.
