Job summary

Picup, a last-mile delivery and technology-focused company, seeks a detail-oriented Zone Planner to optimize driver coverage within designated zones in the Western Cape. You will plan driver supply, manage slots, and coordinate with infield supervisors while maintaining dashboards and reports.

Requirements include strong planning, scheduling, and data analysis skills, with proficiency in spreadsheets and planning tools. Experience with fleet management or telematics is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (not required but beneficial).
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills, with experience coordinating field operations or logistics within a defined geographic area.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including using spreadsheets, dashboards, or planning tools to interpret operational metrics and drive decisions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, technical, and customer-facing teams.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including prioritizing tasks under time pressure and managing unexpected operational changes.
• Comfort with technology platforms and SaaS solutions; experience in fleet management, telematics, or related industries is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in documentation, work orders, and resource allocation records.

Responsibilities

• Understand and work with client forecasting and historical data to plan driver coverage.
• Create and manage slots within designated zones.
• Implement store time changes and updates where required.
• Plan and coordinate store launches.
• Manage driver replacements as needed.
• Initiate driver requirements/activations via Training Centres.
• Collaborate with Infield Supervisors to determine driver coverage requirements.
• Plan exclusion zones in coordination with Infield Supervisors.
• Collaborate with Delivery Team regarding supply challenges and business risk.
• Develop and maintain dashboards highlighting dropped and open slots.
• Track and report on driver attendance and performance.
• Track and report on zone/store performance.
• Track and report on driver non-conformance (branding, etc.).
• Monitor slot withdraws and reasons thereof.
• Analyze and report on zone slot adoption rates.
