NKR Outsourced HR in South Africa seeks a Youth Development Officer to design and manage school- and community-based youth volunteer programmes, fostering leadership, teamwork and a spirit of service.

You will build relationships with schools and community groups, recruit volunteers, coordinate activities, mentor young people, and connect them with skills training, career opportunities and entrepreneurship support.

• Build and maintain relationships with school principals, teachers and relevant education stakeholders.
• Establish, develop and support youth volunteer teams within schools.
• Recruit, engage and coordinate student volunteers.
• Plan and lead school-based volunteer activities, service-learning initiatives and community service projects.
• Develop students' leadership, responsibility, teamwork and spirit of service.
• Identify students with leadership potential and support their development as future youth leaders.
• Build relationships with community youth groups and community-based organisations.
• Recruit and coordinate community youth volunteers and activities.
• Plan and implement youth community service and volunteer programmes.
• Provide mentoring and developmental support to young people.
• Help young people develop leadership, communication, teamwork and workplace-related skills.
• Connect suitable young people with skills training, career, employment opportunities.

The client is seeking a Youth Development Officer to develop and manage school- and community-based youth volunteer programmes.

The successful candidate will focus primarily on establishing and developing sustainable youth volunteer teams within schools, while supporting young people's leadership, character, teamwork and spirit of service.

The role will also identify promising young people and connect them with opportunities for skills development, career development, employability and entrepreneurship.
