Job summary

Kempston Group in East London is seeking a Yard Operations Supervisor to oversee car hire and rental operations, manage servicing, maintenance, and warranty bookings. You will ensure yard security, vehicle cleanliness, and compliance while coordinating logistics and supervising staff.

The role requires 4+ years in fleet/transport environments, a Code 08 license, and solid MS Office skills. A proactive, organized, and solutions-driven individual will excel in this position.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• 4+ years' experience within fleet, transport, logistics environments.
• Sound mechanical knowledge.
• Valid Code 08 driving license.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Health and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the car hire and rental operations.
• Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance, tyre replacements and warranty bookings.
• Maintain accountability for vehicles, fuel usage, accessories, and stock control.
• Monitor vehicle movement, access control, and yard security.
• Supervise and lead yard staff to ensure productivity and high service standards.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, cosmetic standards, and procedural compliance.
• Record and report vehicle damage, claims, and repair requirements.
• Coordinate outsourced drivers and oversee delivery logistics.
• Assist with safety audits, compliance requirements, and operational reporting.
• Oversee the day-to-day running of the vehicle yard and rental operations.
• Manage vehicle servicing, maintenance, tyre replacements, and warranty bookings.
• Ensure the yard operates efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.
