Job summary

Scania South Africa is seeking a Workshop Foreman to lead the workshop team and supervise daily activities in Middelburg. You will ensure work is performed according to official instructions and Scania standards, while maintaining high customer satisfaction and safe, efficient operations.

The role requires a qualified Diesel Technician with a trade certificate, 3-5 years of workshop experience including supervisory duties, a valid heavy vehicle licence, and competence in MS Office and Scania

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade certificate.
• 3-5 years workshop experience, including supervision/Team Leader role.
• Valid Heavy Vehicle licence and computer literacy (MS Office, Scania systems).
• Medically Fit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the direct work in the workshop and supervise daily staff activities.
• Ensure work is performed according to applicable instructions and Scania standards.
• Maintain control of workshop equipment, vehicles and tools and ensure compliance with SHEQ policies.
• Address issues of poor workmanship immediately and manage the assigned team end-to-end.

Job description

Role Summary

The Workshop Foreman is responsible for leading the direct work in the workshop. Supervision of daily staff activities. They need to ensure that the work is carried out according to applicable instructions, rational and economic way for both the customer and the company. Ensuring high level of customer satisfaction is met consistently. Ensure relevant technical literature is in place providing guidance where required. - Ensure that Technicians comply with Scania Standards. - Ensure necessary control of workshop equipment, vehicles and special tools. - Observe and follow directives given in policies, instructions as well as SHEQ. Address any issues of poor workmanship immediately. - End to end management of team assigned.

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements:

• Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade certificate
• 3-5 years technical workshop experience, of which experience in supervising/Team Leader in a workshop environment would be an added advantage.
• Valid Heavy Vehicle licence
• Computer literacy - MS Office, Scania systems
• Medically Fit
