Job summary

Scania South Africa is seeking a qualified Diesel Technician to perform high quality repairs and maintenance on heavy vehicles at our Durban workshop. The role requires a Trade Test Certificate and a minimum of 3 years of workshop experience, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and timely delivery.

You will secure the right information, tools and spare parts, perform work to defined standards, and ensure efficient invoicing and handover when needed. Integrity and compliance are essential.

Qualifications

  • Matric certificate or N3 or equivalent.
  • Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade Test Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in workshop repair/maintenance of heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Before Maintenance or Repair Event - Secure that right information, tools and spare parts are available.
  • During Maintenance or Repair Event - Through well-known and described working methods and standards perform maintenance or repair on time in a correct and safe way.
  • After Maintenance or Repair Event - Secure minimized lead time of invoicing. Through clear description of performed work and/or communicated what needs to be done if the work is handed over to a colleague.

The Technician contributes to Scania’s profitability and safety on our roads.

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements:
  • Matric certificate or N3 or equivalent
  • Qualified Diesel Technician with Trade Test Certificate
  • Must have MINIMUM of 3 YEARS Experience NOT- NEGOTIABLE
  • Previous workshop Experience with repairing and maintaining heavy vehicles
