Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a dedicated Cleaner for the Boilershop workshop to maintain cleanliness of floors, workstations, tools and surrounding areas. You will support artisans and must comply with Health and Safety regulations, with overtime as needed.

The role requires Grade 12, 1–3 years experience, good English communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a pressurized workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1–3 years relevant working experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit).
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules.
• Ability to work under challenging conditions.
• Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English).
• Must be prepared to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of floors, work areas and work stations.
• Clean surrounding pathways and entrances.
• Overall and general housekeeping on a daily basis.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop, workstations and tool stores.
• Cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Assisting Artisans with basic tasks as and when required.
• Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
