Vine Recruitment is seeking a Workshop Artisan for our client in the Citrusdal Valley to support daily workshop operations at the packing facility and report to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include implementing housekeeping, managing spares, repairing packhouse equipment, fabricating parts, coordinating with service providers, and ensuring safety during post-season maintenance in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Trade certificate in Boiler Making, Fitting & Turning, or Welding.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a mechanical workshop.
• Code 10 Driver's Licence.
• Ability to balance planned work with urgent operational requirements.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Detail-oriented.

• Assistance with packhouse-related breakdowns by repairing or assembling parts in the workshop.
• Fabrication of parts and equipment to improve production efficiencies, ergonomics and housekeeping.
• Liaison with service providers on the manufacture of spares and parts and timely delivery thereof.
• Management of power tools and lifting equipment, including booking tools/equipment and related compliance.
• Execute maintenance tasks during the post-season maintenance plan.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed and safe working practices are executed within the workshop.

Our client a vertically integrated producer, packer, and exporter situated in the Citrusdal Valley is seeking a Workshop Artisan. This role is crucial in the daily operations of the workshop at our packing facility and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation of good housekeeping practices in the workshop.
• Management of packhouse equipment spares and maintenance consumable stock levels.
• Assistance with packhouse-related breakdowns by repairing or assembling parts in the workshop.
• Fabrication of parts and equipment that will improve production efficiencies, ergonomics and housekeeping.
• Liaison with service providers on the manufacturing of spares and parts and timely delivery thereof.
• Management of power tools and lifting equipment, including booking of tools/equipment and related compliances (load tests, inspections, tool maintenance, etc.).
• Execute maintenance tasks during the post-season maintenance plan.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed and safe working practices are executed within the workshop.
