Farm Manager SA seeks a seasoned workshop technician in the Citrusdal area, Western Cape, to support our packing facility's daily operations. The role reports to the maintenance manager and focuses on maintaining packhouse equipment, spares management, and ensuring safety in the workshop.
Requirements include a Grade 12, a trade certificate in Boiler Making/Fitting/Turning/Welding, at least 5 years in a mechanical workshop, and a Code 10 license.
Citrusdal Area, Western Cape Province – South Africa: This role is crucial in the daily operations of the workshop at our packing facility and will report directly to the maintenance manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12.
- Trade certificate in Boiler Making or Fitting/Turning or Welding.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
- Code 10 Drivers License.
- Ability to balance planned work with urgent operational requirements.
- Strong communications skills.
- Detail orientated.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Implementation of good housekeeping practices in workshop.
- Management of packhouse equipment spares and maintenance consumable stock levels.
- Assistance with packhouse related breakdowns in the form of repairing or assembling parts in the workshop.
- Fabrication of parts and equipment that will improve production efficiencies, ergonomics and housekeeping.
- Liaison with service providers on the manufacturing of spares and parts and timely delivery thereof.
- Management of power tools and lifting equipment including booking of tools/equipment and related compliances (Load tests, inspections, tool maintenance etc.)
- Execute maintenance tasks during post season maintenance plan.
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed, and safe working practices are executed within the workshop.
