Job summary

Wine.co.za, based in Stellenbosch, seeks a Tasting Room Assistant to deliver exceptional guest experiences through wine tastings, sales, and food service in a busy tasting room.

The role requires excellent customer service, knowledge of wines, and the ability to work weekends in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will maintain tasting room cleanliness and assist with POS transactions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Seat guests and ensure they are comfortable throughout their visit.
• Provide information about the winery, wines, and available experiences.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
• Conduct guided wine tastings for guests and explain varietals, tasting notes, and food pairings.
• Promote wine sales where applicable and maintain knowledge of all wines and products.
• Prepare and serve platters, pizzas, and other menu items; serve wine and other beverages.
• Process orders and payments using the point-of-sale system; manage cash/card transactions.
• Assist with stock control and inventory counts; restock wines and merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of tasting room, kitchen, and outdoor areas.
