Placements24 is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician for on-site work in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role focuses on installation, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of wind turbines to ensure reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with 3+ years of wind turbine or similar mechanical/electrical maintenance experience, and the ability to work at heights and in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or NQF Level 4 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience in wind turbine maintenance and inspection is essential.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and diagnose faults.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic checks on wind turbines.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Install, commission, and test new wind turbine components and systems.
• Safely access nacelles and towers, including working at heights.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency repair situations.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and technicians to ensure efficient wind farm operation.
