Job summary

Nordex Group is seeking a Service Technician to support lead technicians in maintaining wind farms across South Africa. You will perform autonomous troubleshooting, repairs, and complex exchanges on wind turbines and related systems, while coordinating with local teams and monitoring spare parts usage.

The role includes ensuring safety, working overtime when required, and supporting field reporting and compliance. A relevant diploma and driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• N6 electrical/mechanical trade qualification or a related diploma.
• Able to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics and prints.
• Knowledge of testing and troubleshooting equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers.
• ECSA registration within 3 years of post-job acceptance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, fault-find and repair wind turbines and related equipment.
• Perform complex repair processes with local technical support.
• Fill in job cards, reports and checklists for supervision and clients.
• Manage on-site spare parts inventory and material usage.
• Ensure tasks are performed to Nordex Energy standards with safety compliance.
• Oversee subcontractors to ensure quality and adherence to procedures.
• Carry out root cause analysis and repairs of electrical and mechanical components.
• Monitor and report on maintenance tasks and site conditions.
