Job summary

National Brands Limited (NBL) invites a skilled Welder to join NBL Coffee and Creamer in Isando, Kempton Park, to ensure all finished goods leaving the factory are of the highest quality and food safe.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of stainless-steel welding and fabrication experience (preferably in a food manufacturing environment) with TIG and Arc welding. A Grade 12/Matric and a Welding Trade Test are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of stainless-steel welding and fabrication experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• Grade 12 / Matric and Welding Trade Test essential.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate components and structures to support plant maintenance and improvements.
• Weld stainless steel and aluminium parts to required standards.
• Perform general welding repairs on plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality and food safety standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives within engineering.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports to: Maintenance Manager - Utilities

Key Areas of Impact:

• Fabrication of components and structures to support plant maintenance and improvement initiatives
• Welding of stainless steel and aluminium components in accordance with required standards
• Conducting general welding repairs on plant equipment and infrastructure
• Assisting with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety, quality, and food safety standards
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
• Supporting continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives within the engineering function

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:

• 5 or more years’ stainless-steel welding and fabrication experience (preferably in a food manufacturing environment)

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant Welding Trade Test is essential
• Good knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques (Tig and Arc)
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings

Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:

• Willingness to work overtime when required]
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
