Job summary

Kalagadi is seeking a Weighbridge Controller to coordinate the movement of trucks through the weighbridge, admit trucks, verify bookings and system information, and control truck traffic. The role works with stockpile personnel to allocate loading destinations and ensure safety and operational procedures are followed.

The position emphasizes accurate truck identification, clear communication among operational areas, and minimizing congestion and delays on site.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
• Relevant logistics, transport, mining or operations qualification will be advantageous.
• Previous experience in a weighbridge, logistics, mining, transport or dispatch environment.
• Experience working with computerised systems.
• Experience in traffic or vehicle movement control will be advantageous.
• Experience in a mining environment will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Accurate truck admission and identification.
• Accuracy of booking and system verification.
• Correct allocation of trucks to loading destinations.
• Effective communication with operational stakeholders.
• Efficient control of truck traffic.
• Reduction and effective management of congestion.
• Accurate system capturing and record keeping.
• Timely reporting of weighbridge defects and system failures.
• Timely reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions.
• Compliance with mine safety, traffic and operational procedures.
• Effective coordination with Security, Control Room, stockpile and Logistics personnel.
• Minimisation of truck turnaround delays caused by weighbridge operations.

Education
