About the Role

Our client, a premier event venue and catering provider located in the heart of the winelands, Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is seeking a seasoned and visionary Wedding and Functions Catering Director . This pivotal role is responsible for leading the entire catering operation for weddings and special functions, ensuring an unforgettable experience for every client. Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage all catering operations for weddings, conferences, and other functions. Develop and curate sophisticated menus that cater to a diverse clientele and evolving trends. Lead, train, and inspire a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and event service personnel. Oversee the entire event lifecycle, from initial client consultation and proposal generation to flawless execution and post-event analysis. Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently met. Manage all aspects of event logistics, including vendor coordination, staffing, and venue requirements. Control catering budgets, optimize resource allocation, and manage food and beverage costs effectively. Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and venue partners. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the catering offering and client experience.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in catering management or event hospitality, with at least 4 years in a director or senior management role specifically focusing on weddings and functions. Demonstrated expertise in menu engineering, food and beverage costing, and inventory management. Exceptional leadership, team-building, and motivational skills. Strong client relationship management and sales acumen. Proven ability to manage complex events and logistics in a high-pressure environment.
