Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a dedicated Water and Wastewater Engineer to join our team. You will design, develop, and manage water supply and sanitation infrastructure projects essential to the Free State, ensuring clean water and effective wastewater treatment for communities.

You will lead design work, perform hydraulic modeling, prepare feasibility studies, and oversee construction and commissioning, while collaborating with municipal clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water/wastewater.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering design and project management.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng) is advantageous.
• Proficiency in EPANET, WaterGEMS, SWMM.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water treatment plants, distribution networks, and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water and sewer systems.
• Prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and detailed engineering plans and specifications.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Collaborate with municipal clients, regulatory bodies, and construction teams.
