Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resource Engineer to join our municipal services team in Welkom, Free State. You will design, implement, and maintain water and wastewater systems to ensure safe, reliable water supply and effective wastewater management for the region.

You will engage in hydraulic modeling, project planning, and regulatory compliance, contributing to public health and environmental sustainability through critical water infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering with focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• 4+ years in water and wastewater engineering projects.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, WaterCAD).
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and distribution network management.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the construction of water supply systems including treatment plants, pipelines, and reservoirs.
• Develop and implement wastewater collection and treatment solutions.
• Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis for water networks and drainage systems.
• Manage water resource planning including demand forecasting and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals related to water resources.
