Placements24 is recruiting a qualified Water Resources Civil Engineer to join our innovative team. The role supports projects primarily in the Welkom area and surrounding Free State regions, with remote working options.

You will plan, design, and manage dams, pipelines, treatment plants, and stormwater systems, applying hydraulic modeling and environmental considerations. Strong collaboration and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with water resources/hydrology specialization.
• ECSA registration (Pr. Eng. preferred).
• 8+ years of relevant water resources experience.
• Proficient in hydraulic modeling software and CAD.

Responsabilités

• Design and analyze water supply systems (pipelines, pumps, reservoirs).
• Develop hydraulic models for distribution and stormwater networks.
• Plan and design wastewater treatment facilities and processes.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for water projects.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely to support projects primarily in the Welkom area and surrounding Free State regions. This role will involve the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, treatment plants, and stormwater systems. You will leverage your expertise to address water scarcity challenges, improve water quality, and ensure sustainable water management practices. The position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of water supply systems, including pipelines, pump stations, and storage reservoirs.
• Develop hydraulic models for water distribution networks and stormwater systems.
• Plan and design wastewater treatment facilities and processes.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for water resource projects.
• Prepare feasibility studies, design reports, and tender documents.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. preferred).
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and CAD.
• Strong understanding of water quality management, treatment technologies, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
