Job summary

Saint-Gobain Africa is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Cape Town to lead inbound/outbound operations, drive stock accuracy and implement WCM. You will budget and manage costs, mentor staff and ensure SAP processes are used effectively. Strong communication and leadership are essential to meet safety and performance targets.

The role requires Matric plus a degree/diploma in Transportation/Logistics or Supply Chain, with 3+ years in logistics and warehouse supervision in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Matric completed and a Degree or Diploma in Transportation/Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics, inventory control and warehouse supervision within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years’ management experience within a Warehousing Environment.
• Budgeting and cost management skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least 2 years working on SAP.

Responsibilities

• Understand, investigate and reduce the number of demand redlights.
• Develop and review procedures.
• Improve existing processes to meet stock record accuracy, CSI and Truck turnaround target.
• Application of WCM methodologies in the Warehouse.
• Conduct on the job coaching while utilising a formalised individual coaching plan with team members.
• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Manage incapacity and poor performance in line with policies.
• Set team targets and objectives.
• Conduct daily patrols.
• Manage Warehouse 3S.
• Solve problems as they arise and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
• Communicate effectively with fellow supervisors, other employees and managers to achieve long and short-term goals.
• Communicate effectively with customers and external departments.
• SFA completion
• Reduce Warehouse losses through WCM cost reduction.

Is this job for you?

The ideal candidate must have completed Matric and possess a Degree or Diploma in Transportation/Logistics or Supply Chain. Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics, inventory control and warehouse supervision within a manufacturing environment. At least 3 years’ management experience within a Warehousing Environment. This role calls for a person with the ability to do budgeting and cost management as well as good communication and Interpersonal skills. It is crucial that this candidate has at least 2 years working on SAP.
