Introduction
Our client, a leading and growing company in the alternative medicine and natural health industry, is looking for a reliable, safety-conscious and detail-oriented Warehouse Operator to join their team at their plant in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient receiving, storage, picking, movement and control of stock, while ensuring accurate inventory records and compliance with company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and other warehouse stock.
- Check deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes and relevant documentation.
- Verify quantities, product descriptions, batch/lot numbers and the condition of received stock.
- Identify and report shortages, damages, incorrect deliveries and other discrepancies.
- Label and store stock correctly in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and issue stock accurately according to picking lists, production requirements and dispatch instructions.
- Apply appropriate stock rotation principles, including FIFO/FEFO where applicable.
- Perform cycle counts, stock counts and physical stocktakes.
- Investigate and report stock variances and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure all stock movements are properly documented and recorded.
- Safely operate a reach truck and other authorised material-handling equipment.
- Load, unload, move, stack and retrieve pallets and stock as required.
- Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report any defects or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure aisles, walkways, emergency exits and access points remain clear.
- Take care to prevent damage, contamination, deterioration or loss of stock.
- Report damaged, leaking, contaminated, expired or non-conforming stock immediately.
- Assist with maintaining warehouse standards for internal, customer and regulatory audits.
- Comply with all company policies, warehouse procedures, quality requirements and health and safety standards.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in warehouse, stores, logistics or manufacturing will be advantageous.
- Experience in receiving, picking, stock control and stocktaking advantageous.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
- Valid Reach Truck Operator certification/licence appropriate to the equipment operated.
- Must be medically fit and appropriately authorised to operate material-handling equipment, where required.
