Job summary

Smith Garb & Associates is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager in Johannesburg to lead the shift, manage stock control and ensure Material Handling Equipment availability, as well as dock and freezer equipment maintenance, while enforcing safety procedures.

Ideal candidates hold a Grade 12 with Maths and Science, an NQF 5 in Warehouse/Supply Chain, and a minimum of 5 years in warehouse management with distribution experience. Shift work and weekend roster are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide full leadership and management of the shift, ensuring operational targets and business objectives are achieved within budget.
• Take full responsibility for stock control and ensure ongoing stock accuracy and integrity.
• Ensure the correct operation, maintenance and availability of all Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Oversee the accurate and efficient loading and off-loading of all vehicles.
• Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of docks and freezer equipment, including racks and shuttles.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety and operational procedures.
• Manage staff effectively, including leave, absenteeism, shift planning and resource allocation to meet operational requirements.
• Oversee and manage casual labour to ensure operational demands are met.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor and control all pallet movements, ensuring accurate tracking and accountability.
