Job summary

Alstom, via Gibela, invites applications for a Storekeeper in the Services department based in Midrand. You will manage inventory, ensure secure storage, and track all goods through ERP systems, contributing to efficient supply chain operations.

You will work under the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring FIFO/LIFO compliance, accuracy of stock records, and compliance with EHS standards. A Grade 12 and a relevant diploma are required, with forklift license and SAP ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Diploma in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or Logistics or equivalent is advantageous.
• 2-3 years warehousing experience including receiving/dispatching materials and use of Warehouse Management Systems.
• Forklift or equivalent license.
• SAPICS certification advantageous.
• 2-3 years SAP ERP knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety regulations for storage and handling of materials.
• Receive and check incoming stock against purchase orders.
• Maintain safe handling practices for tools and materials; store items in appropriate locations.
• Utilize ERP systems to track stock and update inventory records.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and perform regular counts.
• Follow FIFO/LIFO methods to minimize spoilage; monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.
