Job summary

Alstom in Durban, South Africa, is hiring a Storekeeper for the TSSSA internal team based in Midrand. The role focuses on inventory management, stock control, and safe warehousing operations in a large rail manufacturing setup.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will handle goods reception, storage, line-side replenishment, packaging and shipping, while upholding EHS standards and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years warehousing experience including receiving and dispatching material
• Use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Forklift or equivalent license
• SAP ERP system knowledge (advantageous)
• SAPICS certification (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety regulations related to storage and handling of materials.
• Receive and check incoming stock against purchase orders.
• Maintain stock locations and organize warehouse storage.
• Track inventory using ERP system and update records.
• Ensure FIFO/LIFO methods to minimize spoilage.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Assist in audits and QA investigations.
• Coordinate stock movements and replenishment on lineside.
