Job summary

FlySafair is seeking a Warehouse General Assistant at our Head Office in Gauteng. The successful applicant will report to the Warehouse Manager and join the Inventory and Dispatch teams to support stock processes.

Key duties include receiving, inspecting, and organizing stock, maintaining safe housekeeping, and assisting with stock verification and C of C documentation as required. Weekend work and reliable transport are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential).
• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or stock-handling environment (Advantageous).
• Physically fit and able to lift and handle items weighing 20–25 kg without assistance (Essential).
• Willing and able to work on weekends where required.
• Must have reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist Receiving Inspectors with processing outstanding DNU stock.
• Segregate stock as directed and ensure items are identified.
• Assist with physical verification of stock quantities against documentation.
• Assist with preparing and matching Certificates of Conformance (C of C).
• Identify and refer items lacking C of C to the appropriate person.
• Handle parts carefully to prevent damage, loss or misallocation.
• Assist Dispatch with organisation and cleanup of mezzanine and warehouse areas.
• Move and organise stock as required.
• Support housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist Inventory with physical movement of stock within the warehouse.
• Pack and place stock in racks and storage locations.
• Sort and organise stock to support inventory management.
• Report stock discrepancies or damaged items to the relevant team.
• Follow all warehouse, safety and stock-handling procedures.
• Use warehouse equipment responsibly and per instructions.
• Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Perform other reasonable warehouse-related duties as instructed.

• Identify and separate parts where a C of C is unavailable and refer these to the appropriate responsible person;
• Ensure parts are handled carefully to prevent damage, loss or incorrect allocation;
• Assist the Dispatch team with the organisation and clean-up of the mezzanine and designated warehouse areas;
• Assist with the movement and organisation of stock as required;
• Support general housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, safe and orderly working environment;
• Assist the Inventory team with the physical movement of stock within the warehouse;
• Pack and place stock in the appropriate racks and designated storage locations as instructed;
• Assist with the sorting and organisation of stock to support effective inventory management;
• Report any visible stock discrepancies, damaged items or incorrectly stored stock to the relevant team member;
• Follow all warehouse, safety and stock-handling procedures;
• Use warehouse equipment and resources responsibly and in accordance with instructions;
• Maintain good housekeeping standards within assigned work areas;
• Perform other reasonable warehouse-related duties as instructed.
