Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a motivated Supply Chain Shift Supervisor to oversee warehouse and logistics operations. You will manage a team, ensure smooth shift operations, and maintain stock accuracy while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will lead daily activities, monitor performance, and drive process improvements to keep goods flowing on schedule. Strong supervisory experience and ERP/SAP proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Management (NQF 5+).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse/logistics or supply chain.
• Supervisory or team leader experience in shift-based operations.
• Proficient with MS Office and ERP/WMS or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, dispatching and returns.
• Plan and coordinate team workloads to optimize resources and equipment use.
• Monitor shift performance, ensuring work is safe, accurate and on time.
• Maintain product quality, correct labelling and dispatch accuracy.
• Lead handovers and share key updates between shifts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct counts.
• Investigate stock variances and report discrepancies promptly.
• Identify slow-moving or damaged stock and document findings.
• Lead and coach team members and enforce safety rules.
• Prepare daily shift reports and track key metrics.

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Management (NQF 5 or above).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment.
• Supervisory or team leader experience in a shift-based operation.
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, ERP/WMS or SAP).

Responsibilities

Daily Operations

• Supervise all shift activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, dispatching, and returns.

• Plan and coordinate team workloads, ensuring resources and equipment are used efficiently.

• Monitor shift performance and ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.

• Oversee product quality, correct labelling, and dispatch accuracy.

• Manage handovers and communicate key updates between shifts.

Inventory and Stock Accuracy

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records.

• Conduct cycle counts, spot checks, and assist with monthly stocktakes.

• Investigate and resolve stock variances or discrepancies.

• Identify and report slow-moving or damaged stock.

• Ensure all stock transactions are properly recorded in the system.

Team Leadership

• Lead and motivate team members to meet performance targets.

• Manage attendance, leave, and disciplinary issues in line with company policy.

• Support new staff with training and ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures.

• Encourage teamwork and build a positive, accountable work culture.

Reporting and Communication

• Prepare daily shift reports on output, productivity, and issues.

• Track and update key operational metrics.

• Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or process inefficiencies to management.

• Ensure accurate completion and sign-off of shift paperwork.

Safety and Compliance

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.

• Enforce company health and safety standards and address unsafe practices immediately.

• Conduct routine safety checks and report any incidents or near misses.

• Ensure all warehouse activities follow legal and company requirements.

Process Improvement

• Identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste or downtime.

• Support small improvement projects and assist in developing better work processes.

• Share ideas for improving workflow, accuracy, and team performance.
