Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking a Warehouse Manager to plan, coordinate and optimise all warehouse operations in the Western Cape. The role includes supervising staff, improving processes, and ensuring safety and compliance with ISO standards.

You will manage stock control, shipping, receiving and distribution, while maintaining strong customer relationships and meeting service levels. A relevant diploma is required, with a bachelor’s degree advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Warehouse Management, Distribution or Logistics is required.
• At least 5 years of warehouse/logistics experience with supervisory exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse systems.
• Strong planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage receiving, packing, storage and dispatch of goods.
• Coordinate export packing and shipment preparation.
• Prepare shipment schedules and employee work schedules.
• Liaise with logistics service providers regarding daily planning and deliveries.
• Optimise warehouse layout, space utilisation and future capacity.
• Maintain accurate dispatch documentation and document control.
• Oversee labeling equipment and warehouse security.
• Ensure hazardous materials are stored according to requirements.
• Contribute to operational planning and continuous improvement.
• Oversee stock receipts and inventory system updates.
• Coordinate physical stock counts and reconcile results against records.
• Investigate stock variances and implement corrective action.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Warehouse Management, Distribution or Logistics (NQF Level 6).
• Minimum 5 years’ warehouse, distribution or logistics experience within a manufacturing environment, with supervisory experience; the profile specifies up to 3 years at supervisory level.
• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant warehouse or logistics systems.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing and distribution processes.
• Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication and customer service abilities.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to perform under pressure.
