Job summary

Olifants River Lodge is part of Dream Hotels & Resorts and is seeking staff to support both kitchen and dining services to meet high standards. The role covers cleaning, preparation, service, ordering and control of food and related items per company guidelines.

Responsibilities include table setup, guest service, order taking, accuracy checks, cleanliness, deliveries, and compliance with health and safety protocols to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification required.
• 1-2 years' front-of-house experience.
• 2 years’ customer service experience.
• Apex experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set tables with candles, plants, clean cutlery and glasses.
• Remove dirty cutlery, crockery, ashtrays, bottles and glasses before guests are seated.
• Maintain neat appearance and high personal hygiene.
• Keep the restaurant tidy at all times.
• Offer guests a drink after seating.
• Take orders and serve drinks; repeat orders to confirm.
• Ensure plated food matches guest orders.
• Ensure plates are presentable with no spills.
• Present bills and handle change.
• Be present in/around the bar when not on service to assist guests.
• Ensure slips are signed and handed to reception.
• Account for all drinks served via POS or account book.
• Post meals not included to guest's account.
• Stock and clean fridges; arrange self-service areas.

Job Overview

To assist the kitchen staff by assisting with the cleaning, preparation, service, ordering and control of food, cooked or uncooked and ancillary items to the agreed standards laid down by the Company

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring that tables are set correctly, and that they have candles in the evening, as well as plants / flowers, clean cutlery and glasses.
• Responsible for ensuring that all dirty cutlery, crockery, ashtrays, bottles and glasses are removed from the table before that guest is seated
• Always maintaining a neat appearance and high standard of personal hygiene
• Ensuring that the restaurant is always tidy
• Ensure to offer the guests something to drink once they have seated themselves down
• Take orders from guests, obtain and serve drinks
• ALWAYS repeat guests order to ensure it is correct
• Ensure the food that is plated coincides with the guest's order
• Ensuring the food that is plated is presentable (no spillage on plate, no oil, no red juice from meats, garnishes etc.)
• Present guest with their bill / payment, and return correct monetary change where necessary
• Ensure that you are present in and around the bar when not in service to help guests
• Ensures all slips are signed and handed to reception for filing
• Ensures every drink served is accounted for by either POS system or the issue book
• Ensures all meals that are not included are posted to the guest's account
• Ensure fridges are always well stocked and cleaned
• Ensure cushions are laid out and taken in at night/if raining
• Arrange the self-service, salad and buffet area.
• Assisting F&B managers/assistants with checking deliveries and unpacking deliveries
• Ensure that you are familiar and adhere with all Health and Safety Regulations
• Promotes customer satisfaction through a high standard of efficiency and courtesy
• Always thank the guest for patronage

Qualifications And Experience
