Job summary

The President Hotel in Cape Town is seeking a professional Waitron to warmly welcome guests and take accurate orders. You will guide guests through menus, upsell beverage and dining experiences, and ensure service meets luxury hotel standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining table settings, coordinating with kitchen and bar, handling payments, and delivering personalised guest care during high-volume periods. Flexibility for shifts and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Minimum 2 years recent Waitron experience in a hotel or upto-market restaurant.
• Experience in 4- or 5-star hotel environments is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Knowledge of menus, beverages and basic wine pairing.
• POS system experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident, professional and engaging with guests.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver personalised service.
• Remain calm and organised during high-volume service.
• Attention to detail and presentation standards.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to service standards.
• Work well as part of a Food & Beverage team.
