Share is seeking a VP & Staff Software Engineer in Cape Town to lead technical ownership over the payments pipeline, billing engine, and integration layer. You will directly impact the platform's architecture and collaborate with a small, focused team to deliver production systems for financial transactions.

As the most senior technical contributor, you will design systems, unblock team challenges, and focus on creating optimal payment solutions. Candidates showing proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and experience in fintech are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend systems related to payments.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and Node.js; capable of designing microservices.
• Production experience with payment gateway integrations.
• Strong skills in PostgreSQL for financial data management.

Responsibilities

• Own critical technical domains of the payments pipeline, billing engine, and integration layer.
• Make architectural decisions and write production code.
• Collaborate with the CTO and engineers to ship production systems.
