Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in volunteer management, recruitment, or community engagement.
• Proven ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers.
• Excellent communication, mediation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in event planning and coordination.
• CRM software or volunteer management familiarity is a plus.
• Knowledge of the non-profit sector and local Western Cape community needs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in George office.
• Warm, approachable demeanor and passion for service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment in George and surrounding areas.
• Design and deliver volunteer orientation and training programs.
• Manage volunteer database, hours, placements and contact records.
• Provide ongoing support and mentorship to volunteers.
• Organize volunteer appreciation events to recognize contributions.
• Match volunteer skills with program needs and opportunities.
• Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer needs and placements.
• Monitor performance and provide feedback to volunteers and staff.
• Promote volunteering opportunities through social media and community events in George.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety guidelines.
