Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced VoIP Engineer to join their team in Nelspruit on a hybrid basis. You will design, implement and support Voice over IP systems, ensuring high-quality voice services and reliable network performance.

The role requires a strong background in SIP, H.323 and RTP, hands-on experience with Cisco or Asterisk, and the ability to manage projects across office and field settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with VoIP technologies and systems.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, H.323, RTP and other VoIP protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain VoIP systems including PBX, call managers, and softphone solutions.
• Monitor network traffic and system performance to ensure voice quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to call quality, connectivity, and system malfunctions.
• Implement and manage security measures for VoIP systems to protect against threats.
• Collaborate with network and system administrators to integrate VoIP solutions.
• Stay current with VoIP advancements and recommend upgrades or new solutions.
