Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Viticulture Technician for on-site work in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will support the vineyard management team in ensuring healthy grapevines, from monitoring vine health to assisting with irrigation and canopy management.

This full-time role requires hands-on, outdoorsy work and strong attention to detail. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of vineyard experience, a diploma or certificate in viticulture or horticulture, and a passion for high-quality wine

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in viticulture or horticulture required.
• Minimum 2–3 years practical vineyard experience.
• Strong understanding of grapevine physiology and viticultural practices.
• Knowledge of pest and disease identification and control methods.

Responsabilités

• Assist with vineyard management plans under the Viticulturist guidance.
• Perform regular field inspections for vine growth, health, and pest/disease signs.
• Apply approved pest/disease treatments following safety protocols.
• Assist irrigation scheduling and system checks to ensure water supply.
• Participate in canopy management like pruning and leaf removal.
• Collect data on vine performance, yield estimates, and fruit maturity.
• Operate and maintain vineyard machinery safely.
• Assist with harvest operations and quality control.
• Maintain accurate records of vineyard activities and inputs.
• Support sustainable and organic vineyard practices.
