Job summary

Greys Recruitment in the Tzaneen area is seeking a Van Assistant to support the driver with loading, delivery, and customer service. You will assist with loading and securing goods, accompany routes, and help maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.

The role requires a grade 12 or equivalent and physical fitness. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet delivery timelines. You will be part of a team focusing on safe, efficient transport and professional service.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in deliveries, warehousing, logistics, or general labour will be advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move goods.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when operationally required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and offloading goods from the delivery vehicle.
• Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation, and delivery.
• Check goods against delivery notes, invoices, or picking documents.
• Accompany the driver on delivery and collection routes.
• Assist with deliveries to customers, stores, branches, or other designated locations.
• Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery where required.
• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect goods to the driver or supervisor.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle.
• Assist with vehicle checks and report any defects or safety concerns.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
