Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a seasoned User Experience professional in Johannesburg to transform complex user needs into intuitive interfaces. The role requires at least four years in UX, a relevant design or IT qualification, and the ability to conduct user research and translate insights into practical design decisions.

You will prototype, wireframe, develop personas and journey maps, and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years in a User Experience role.
  • A relevant design or IT degree or formal qualification would be advantageous
  • Experience conducting user research to inform solutions (User interviews, Heuristic evaluation, audits, desktop research)
  • Experience in prototyping, wire framing and designing solutions and interfaces (Experience in Sketch is advantageous)
  • Experience in creating of personas and experience maps
  • Presentation and workshopping skills
  • Experience in planning, designing and conducting user/usability testing sessions and consolidation of feedback
  • The ability to conceptualize with, and articulate innovative solutions to stakeholders
  • The ability to work with tight deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Create solutions to meet customer demands to deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards.
  • Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs.
  • Interpret and translate business requirements, user needs and technical constraints into screen flow experiences that are efficient, effective, and easy to use.
  • Apply design thinking rationale when following a design approach using industry research and trends to encourage a user-centred design culture.
  • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisation
  • Display and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity.
  • Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development.
  • Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes.
  • Manages risks in own area of responsibility.
  • Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
