Job summary

Valterra Platinum, based in Thabazimbi, South Africa, is seeking a Shift Supervisor Mining to plan, coordinate and control resources for safe and optimum production within the shaft.

The role requires a Grade 12, Blasting Certificate, Shift Supervisor Certificate, and Competent A & B, with at least 5 years of underground supervisory experience. The successful candidate will enforce safety, manage the site logbook, and drive daily, weekly, and monthly plans.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Blasting Certificate required.
• Shift Supervisor Certificate required.
• Competent A & B certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead resources in the mining section to ensure safe, optimum production.
• Maintain the shift logbook and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Conduct accident investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Supervise miners to ensure alignment with mine design and practices.
• Order materials and prevent wastage; monitor attendance and payroll matters.
• Ensure discipline and adherence to the disciplinary code; execute daily/weekly/monthly plans.
