Job summary

Valterra Platinum seeks an experienced Underground Fitter for the Mototolo Lebowa Shaft. The role involves maintaining, installing and commissioning machinery to MHSA standards in a demanding mine environment.

Main duties include safety meeting attendance, risk assessments, task allocation, breakdown response, and ensuring availability of parts and tools. Candidates must be trade-qualified and able to work standby and overtime.

Qualifications

• English literacy required.
• Must be able to standby and work overtime.
• Familiarity with risk assessment procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend and conduct safety meetings.
• Conduct risk assessments and allocate tasks to crew.
• Attend to breakdowns and emergencies as required.
• Ensure materials, spares and equipment are available as required.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to subordinates.
• Comply with environmental requirements.
• Record results of legal examinations in the proper format.
• Perform work to required standards and specifications.
