Sandvik Mining seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide mechanical maintenance and reliability improvements in a mining environment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support planning and documentation, and work to maintain high equipment availability and cost efficiency.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant mining and mechanised mining experience, a Grade 12/N3 technical qualification (or equivalent), and a Section 13 or 26D trade certificate with

• Grade 12 or N3 technical qualification or equivalent.
• Section 13 or 26D Trade Certificate with apprenticeship proof.
• Basic computer literacy and English proficiency.
• Relevant mining experience (5 years) and mechanised mining experience (5 years).
• Underground and surface mining environment experience.
• Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining/construction environments.

Responsabilidades

• Mechanical maintenance operations.
• Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, support planning and preparation, monitor outcomes, document root cause and improvements.
• Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Achieve maintenance targets.
• Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
• Communicate operational status and any deviations.
• Adhere to safety and 5S housekeeping requirements.
• Pursue continuous improvements at personal and operational levels.

The Role

Provides technical support in mechanical maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to increase or maintain a high level of reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance operations.
• Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, supports planning and preparation, monitors outcome, documentation (outcome, root cause, time, improvements).
• Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Achievement of maintenance targets.
• Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
• Communication of operational status and any deviations.
• Safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
• Continuous improvements and development on a personal and operational level.

Profile Required

• Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent Qualification
