Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join the team near Soweto. The role focuses on mapping and measuring the mine environment, underground and on the surface, establishing control points, and ensuring alignment with design plans for safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include establishing control points, preparing mine plans, and providing spatial data to engineers and geologists while complying with industry standards.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• 3+ years of Mine Surveyor experience, preferably underground.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and software (AutoCAD, 3D modeling).
• Strong understanding of mine surveying principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and data reporting accuracy.
• Ability to work in challenging mining environments, including hazardous areas.

Responsibilities

• Establish control points and map mine workings.
• Measure volumes and prepare mine plans, cross-sections, and as-built drawings.
• Operate total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide spatial data.
• Ensure survey work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Regularly check data accuracy and calibrate equipment.
