Job summary

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, seeks a Mine Overseer with a minimum of 5 years in mining operations. You will lead underground teams, manage production, and drive safety and efficiency in a state-of-the-art project in Limpopo.

Applicants must hold a Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency, a blasting certificate, and a relevant degree or diploma, with a valid driver’s license. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• N Diploma or BTech in Mining Engineering preferred.
• Blasting Certificate and Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency required.
• Valid Driver’s License is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise underground mining production activities and achieve safety and production targets.
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, and company policies.
• Lead, coach and develop production supervisors and underground teams.
• Monitor production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations.
