Job summary

CA Mining is seeking a Section Manager for a deep-level hard rock underground gold mining operation. You will lead mining activities, ensure MHSA compliance and optimize production while controlling costs.

You will drive safety, risk management and continuous improvement, developing people and ensuring equipment availability. 10+ years underground experience, with Mine Overseer level exposure, is required.

Qualifications

• Underground mining experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in production planning, cost control and safety management.
• Strong knowledge of MHSA, regulations, COPs and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage labour, contractors and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mining activities within the section, ensuring safe, efficient production delivery.
• Ensure compliance with MHSA, mining regulations, COPs, standards and legal appointment requirements.
• Drive safety performance through leadership, inspections, risk assessments and investigations.
• Manage stoping, development, ore reserve extraction, face advance and production planning to meet targets.
• Oversee mining infrastructure, equipment and asset availability and maintenance effectiveness.
• Control labour, contractors, operating and capital costs, budgets and resources to improve cost per tonne and per ounce.
• Lead workforce development, coaching, mentoring and employee engagement to build a high-performing team.
• Maintain accurate production, safety, risk, labour and budget reporting.
