Job summary

Kalagadi is seeking an experienced Mine Overseer to lead a critical underground section at the Hotazel operation in the Northern Cape. You will direct activities, allocate resources, and ensure production targets are met while maintaining strict safety controls.

The role requires extensive underground mining experience, a Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency, and relevant qualifications, with advantageous additions such as a Mine Manager certificate.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 is required.
• BSc/BEng/B-tech or diploma in Mining Engineering (Advantageous).
• Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency is required.
• Mine Manager certificate of competency (Advantageous).
• Blasting Certificate OR National Certificate Rock breaking Underground Hard Rock Level 3 is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Health and Safety standards within the section.
• Manage section operation by allocating work plans to Shift Supervisors.
• Establish production controls to ensure optimum utilization of production plans.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Trackless Mobile Machinery and its safe use.
• Oversee labour control and management within the section.
• Provide underground mining expertise and ensure adherence to processes.
