Placements24 seeks a highly accomplished Senior Mine Operations Manager to lead our flagship underground mining operation in Polokwane, South Africa. This executive role covers strategic planning, execution, safety, and cost control to ensure safe, efficient resource extraction.

You will oversee production, maintenance, and environmental compliance, drive continuous improvement, and mentor a high‑performance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive mine operations experience, with significant underground exposure.
• Proven success leading large, complex mining teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety, risk management, and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of mine operations, including underground production, development, and ventilation.
• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to meet production targets and financial objectives.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of operational staff.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and identify efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, geology, and processing to optimize the value chain.
