Job summary

Mondelez International in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is seeking a Transport & Logistics specialist to execute transportation operations with emphasis on service, cost, safety, quality, and compliance. You will collaborate with third-party logistics partners to plan loads and routes, track deliveries, manage proofs of delivery and freight invoices, and support tender processes.

You will monitor KPIs, provide timely reporting, and drive continuous improvement in our transportation operations

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation and/or logistics functions.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills.
• Conceptual thinking to grasp the larger logistics picture.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of third-party logistics operations.
• Understanding of cost and loss drivers in transportation and logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation related operational activities including transport planning (load and route planning), track and trace, proof of delivery management, claims, freight billing and pay, pallet management, tender support, third-party performance management.
• Monitor, verify, update, analyze and report on transportation KPIs and implement corrective actions to continuously improve transportation operations.
• Coordinate logistics service providers (LSPs) to ensure punctual, timely and in-full deliveries in accordance with SOPs.
• Participate in regular service provider performance reviews.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders on shortages, delays, quality issues and other losses, while analyzing root causes of recurring problems.
• Participate in project-related tasks and tenders and capacity management.
