Placements24, a Durban-based engineering consultancy, is seeking a Transportation Engineer to lead complex projects focused on planning, design, and implementation of transportation solutions that enhance mobility and connectivity.

The role requires a Master’s in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization, ECSA Pr Eng registration, and at least nine years of progressive experience in traffic analysis, modeling, and CAD-enabled design.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in transportation.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is essential.
• A minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, with a strong track record of project leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in traffic analysis, modeling, and simulation.
• Proficiency with transportation engineering software and CAD platforms; familiarity with traffic control devices and highway design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of transportation engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Conduct traffic impact studies, feasibility analyses, and route planning.
• Develop detailed designs for roads, intersections, interchanges, and public transport facilities.
• Utilize advanced traffic modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, AIMSUN) and CAD tools.
• Manage project teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
