Job summary

Greys Personnel is seeking a Transport Estimator based in Johannesburg to prepare fast, accurate estimates for Linehaul, FCL/LCL, airfreight, crane hire, and related services.

You will coordinate with clients and third-party transporters, track shipments, and provide ETAs while maintaining strong Excel/Sheets skills and excellent communication. Willingness to travel as required is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in transport estimating and operational coordination.
• Strong understanding of 3PL/4PL logistics services is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fast, accurate estimates for Linehaul, FCL and LCL transport.
• Prepare estimates for airfreight, crane hire, abnormal loads and breakbulk transports.
• Coordinate with clients and third-party transporters and track shipments.
• Keep systems updated and provide regular tracking updates and ETAs.
• Protect company margins when obtaining supplier rates and preparing quotations.

Requirements

Proven experience in transport estimating and operational coordination Experience in FCL, LCL, linehaul, airfreight, breakbulk, abnormal, crane hire, rigging or over-border transport Good understanding of 3PL and 4PL logistics services Experience working with clients and third-party transport suppliers Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities Own reliable transport and a valid drivers licence Willingness to travel to Durban if and when required

Responsibilities

Prepare fast, accurate and competitive estimates for: Linehaul, FCL and LCL transport Airfreight transport Crane hire, rigging and abnormal loads Breakbulk and over-border transport Warehousing Follow up on submitted estimates to secure bookings Liaise with clients and provide regular tracking updates and ETAs Coordinate third-party transporters, crane and rigging subcontractors Work closely with the FCL, LCL, Airfreight and Warehouse teams in Johannesburg and Durban Monitor collections, deliveries, container movements, packing and unpacking Collect, check and submit PODs before weekly and monthly cut-off dates Keep all operational systems and tracking sheets updated in real time Resolve or escape delays and operational problems promptly Protect company margins when obtaining supplier rates and preparing quotations
